Skill Level 1 Maintains HF, VHF, UHF, and microwave frequency receivers, processing, and storage equipment, computer peripherals, antennas, modulators, demodulators, multiplexers, demultiplexers, signal monitors, and direction finding associate with electronic warfare/intercept system. Prepares maintenance forms and records. Makes detailed test on electrical and mechanical equipment using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, wire diagrams, logic and signal flow charts, technical manuals, troubleshooting charts, performance aids, schematic, logic diagrams, and other measurement and diagnostic equipment.
Skill Level 2 Maintain electronic warfare/intercept receivers, processing and storage equipment, and computer peripherals. Diagnoses unusual and complex malfunctions in electronic warfare/intercept Systems and equipment located at fixed station, remote sites, and US Army depots. Operates automatic and special test equipment to perform Wow and Flutter Test, Harmonic Distortion Test, Wave Ratio Measurement, DC Resistant, Impedance Mismatches, Reflectometry Test, and other distortion test to isolate faults and takes corrective action to assure equipment fidelity. Supervises lower grade personnel in the performance of their duties and assists in conducting formal and informal SOJT programs. Performs as assistant instructor at the service school.
Skill Level 3 Performs duties shown in preceding skill level and provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Serves as the quality assurance inspector for EW/I systems. Conducts and monitors formal and informal SOJT programs. Prepares technical annexes for unit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Diagnoses unusual and complex malfunctions, analyzes recurring faults, and recommends modifications. Performs critical alignment and calibration procedures on EW/l systems. Maintains the technical library and equipment repair and maintenance schedules. Recommends changes to the Prescribed Load List (PLL).
Skill Level 4 Performs duties shown in preceding skill level and provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Supervises maintenance teams or shops at maintenance activities or US Army depots. Supervises unit Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration program. Coordinates with operations sections for maintenance and repair of EW/I equipment. Monitors installation projects for EW/l systems. Establishes and monitors unit preventive maintenance program for EW/I systems. Prepares periodic input to the EW/I systems status reports. Maintains applicable administrative and maintenance files in accordance with Army regulations. Inspects the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) and repair parts records. Recommends changes to the PLL. Reviews and validates repair part requests. Verifies condition codes assigned to equipment during technical inspections.
Skill Level 5 Performs duties shown in preceding skill level and provides guidance to subordinate soldiers. Serves as the principal maintenance NCO in a maintenance activity or a US Army depot. Responsible for all aspects of operations to include production, quality control, quality assurance, and repair parts supply operations. Analyzes maintenance requirements and establishes commitments. Develops plans to use resources and determines priorities and over all training requirements. When assigned to staff positions: prepares technical studies, special reports, correspondence, and records pertaining to maintenance operations.
